The 2024 UW ESS Honors and Awards Ceremony, hosted by ESS Chair Eric Steig.
The 2024 UW Dept of Earth and Space Sciences Honors and Awards Ceremony was held on Friday, May 12 at 3:30 PM in JHN-102, hosted by ESS Chair Eric Steig. There were numerous honors, awards, and scholarships given during this ceremony before adjourning to a reception in the Johnson Hall Courtyard.
The major awards from the 2024 ceremony are :
- Undergraduate Student Service Award : Thomas Ott
- Undergraduate Student Douglas Merrill Prize for Excellence : Jinqui Wu
- Graduate Student Howard Coombs Excellence in Teaching Award : Peter Wynn
- Graduate Student David A. Johnston Prize for Research Excellence : Kelsay Stanton, Elizabth Davis, & Andrew Shumway
- Bassett Teaching Excellence Award : Baptiste Journaux
- Barksdale Service Award : Darrel Cowan & Summer Caton
